INSTALLATION TIPS
The Monkey Mometer Pro's primary function is to measure temperature. This means it is sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity in its surrounding environment. Ensure your unit it set up in a place with constant temperature, at least 3 metres away from a direct heating or cooling source and not directly under a vent. When people enter a room from the outdoors their temperature measurement accuracy will be affected especially if you’ve come from a well-heated car, you’ve been out in the cold, or vice-versa. For the most accurate result, please wait a minute or two for body temperature to regulate before stepping up to the unit for temperature scanning. The temperature reading comes from the forehead area. Rain/water on the forehead, sweat, oil, heavy makeup, and wrinkles will cause the temperature reading to be lower than the actual temperature.
Please ensure the user’s face is clear with no hair or clothing covering the forehead area.
The Monkey Mometer Pro is best used on a person who has acclimatised to the room that the device is installed in, which can take a few minutes in some cases. The device will not scan someone with a wind chill and may report a person as high temperature that has exerted themselves directly before entering the building. It is best used on a person who has removed a beanie or scarf that adds heat to the head area. Lastly, the device scans for skin temperature and does not take core body temperature as it is not a medical device.
The Monkey Mometer Pro stores all records internally and is a stand-alone device. The device can only be accessed via the ethernet port attached to the device – either directly, or via a network. Only an abnormal temperature or blacklisted person will be pushed outside of the device, if configured and connected to a network.
The Monkey Mometer Pro can be used to confirm time of access to a site (time and attendance). Each person scanned is recorded in the device and is time and date stamped. These records can be exported into MS Excel for combination with other data. If configured for facial recognition, a person’s name and employee record can be included in this data. To use for “Time and Attendance” the employees would need to scan in and out or the site would require multiple devices.
